Hollyfort Village

Hollyfort (Irish: Ráth an Chuilinn, meaning "ringfort of the holly") is a village in north County Wexford, Ireland. It lies within the townland of Mangan (Irish: an Mongán, meaning "the little swamp") in the valley of the River Bann, 5 km northwest of Gorey.

Historically it was called Rahincullin, which is an anglicisation of its Irish name.

Tidy Towns at Walk and Talk

Thanks to Amanda Byrne, Gorey Municipal District, we welcomed Dara Hilliard, landscaper and expert in Tidy Towns applications, to Hollyfort on 9th April 2015. His survey of the village was followed at 6.30 with a 'talk and walk' when he was joined by other Tidy Town applicants. He congratulated Hollyfort for the work done so far and imparted some important advice on further developments. Back at the old school for refreshments, Peter Smith (DaddyDay Care) gave an inspiring  Powerpoint talk using 'before' and 'after' pictures of Hollyfort.

The Pump Works!

We are delighted to announce Hollyfort has installed a working pump in the village - in the same spot where the original stood.

Congrats to all those who worked so hard to achieve this great feat of engineering.
