Hollyfort Village

Hollyfort (Irish: Ráth an Chuilinn, meaning "ringfort of the holly") is a village in north County Wexford, Ireland. It lies within the townland of Mangan (Irish: an Mongán, meaning "the little swamp") in the valley of the River Bann, 5 km northwest of Gorey.

Historically it was called Rahincullin, which is an anglicisation of its Irish name.

Hollyfort's May Bush needs ribbons and rags!

Did you know that Hollyfort has a May Bush in the grounds of Hollyfort’s Old School Community Centre?

On the first of May, summer officially begins and in centuries-old fashion, it's also the time that people in Wexford will gather their painted eggs shells, ribbons and bunches of flowers and decorate their May Bush.

Join us by adding your rags and ribbons to our tree and help us support this age-old tradition.
